Pine is an excellent choice for green cemeteries because it naturally breaks down when placed in the ground, making it ideal for environmentally friendly burials that avoid harmful materials.

Our caskets are designed for those who prefer solid wood rather than plywood or metal, and they are made without the use of toxic glues, stains, oils, varnishes, or plastics.

Additionally, pine is more affordable, supporting the growing trend toward simple and natural burial practices.

Federal Law

Under U.S. Federal Law, 16 CFR Part 453 (The Funeral Rule):

If a family provides a casket they purchased elsewhere, the funeral home is required to accept the casket and use it in the service.

If the casket is delivered direct to the funeral home from the manufacturer or store, they are required to accept delivery of the casket.

The funeral home may not add any extra charges for fees to the overall bill if a family decides to purchase a casket elsewhere.

Any funeral home that refuses to accept a casket from family is subject to a fine of up to $10,000 per incident from the Federal Trade Commission.

The funeral home would also be subject to any civil damages resulting from any complaint filed by the family for emotional distress as a result of refusing to accept the casket, refusing to perform the funeral service, or charging the family anything extra such as a "Handling Fee".

You have the right to compare prices and purchase a casket or urn from any provider. By law, you may choose and use whatever type of container you like - even a homemade one.
